Match Report

NDHC played away at Caradon this week. This game was an important one for both teams as it was a battle for second position in the league with both sitting on the same points.

Within the opening minutes of the game NDHC put on the pressure with several good attacks and were unlucky not to capitalise on the chances. With a couple of minutes left in the first half, a great through ball to a Caradon forward who demonstrated some great 3d skills put one past NDHC's defence.

With NDHC starting the second half 1-0 down Ash Thorne, who had stepped up to captain for the game, gave a motivating half time talk. This clearly helped as NDHC didn't give up despite several opportunities being saved by the Caradon keeper. With 10 minutes to go NDHC defender Ben Cox gracefully dribbled passed several Caradon players and slotted the ball into the goal through a crowded D.

With the new found energy NDHC piled on the pressure and won a short corner. With a well worked routine from Ben Andrew and Sam Kirkness, Kirkness was able to get it round the keeper giving NDHC the lead with minutes to go.

At the end of the game the final score was 2-1 to NDHC, with the accolade of being the first team this season to take full points from Caradon.
