2nd Team Vs Torbay 3

On Saturday, North Devon 2 hosted Torbay 3 in a re arranged fixture. Torbay caught North Devon napping and opened the scoring. North Devon reacted and started to settle in their game play. North Devon soon took a 2-1 lead. North Devon found themselves under pressure in the last minutes of the halve but with slick passing and moving the scored from a quick counter attack. North Devon scored from a short corner just before half time to make it 4-1. Torbay came back stronger in the second half and made it 4-2 however North Devon reacted and scored two quick goals to take a 6-2 lead. Torbay kept up the pressure and capitalised on the North Devon mistakes to score a further two goals on the counter attack. However, North Devon looked comfortable and scored a late goal to make it a 7-4 win.
A lovely hat trick from Bradley Bellingham, two goals from Man of the Match Gerrie De Beer and goals apiece for Josh Thorne and Simon Allen were the decisive parts of the game that helped North Devon home to the victory.
North Devon’s next game is on the 22nd January at home to Sidmouth and Ottery 4s.
